Brake – O – Rama shows you the 20 new motors of 2013…

New car sales in Britain have been booming this year. As of the end of July, 1,325,851 vehicles have been bought by motorists, while September heralds another rush with the start of the 63′ plate.

At the same point in 2012 – which was a solid year for car sales compared to other countries across Europe – 1,201,564 new motors were shifted, or 10.3 per cent fewer.

As a result, the Society of Motor Manufactures and Traders significantly raised its forecast for 2013 new car registrations, predicting sales will reach 2.216million units – 8.4 per cent ahead of 2012.

Below, This is Money takes a look at the 20 best selling cars so far of the year, which make up 42.2 per cent of all new motor sales taken from SMMT figures.

We also reveal how many motors each manufacturer has shifted in 2013 – and five low selling vehicles from last year. Do you own one of Britain’s rarest new motors?
